Our Story
Rooted in history and surrounded by natural beauty, Castle Oaks Golf Club sits on the historic Preston Farmlands in Ione, California. Overlooking the course is the iconic Preston Castle, built in 1894, nearly a century before Castle Oaks opened its fairways to golfers.

Designed by Brad Benz, the 18-hole championship course was thoughtfully integrated into the rolling, oak-studded landscape, with mature trees, winding creeks, and natural water features shaping its character. Acclaimed as one of Northern California’s finest public golf courses when it opened, Castle Oaks continues to offer a memorable blend of history, scenic beauty, and rewarding golf for players of all skill levels.
